This position is primarily located at the Mays Landing campus, but requires shifts at any Atlantic Cape Community College location. This is an “essential staff” position in accordance with college policy and the bargaining unit agreement. It requires duties to be performed in all weather or emergency conditions.

Duties:
  • Reports to the Supervisor of Facilities Operations with direct oversight provided by the Maintenance Foreman
  • This position is primarily responsible for performing repairs on various types of motor vehicles, golf carts and grounds equipment
  • Performs preventative maintenance on motor vehicles, golf carts and grounds equipment including safety items, checking for deficiencies, tune-ups, oil changes, lubrication, filter changes and diagnoses inoperative motor vehicles and equipment to determine the cause of malfunction and take corrective actions
  • Changes and repairs tires and inner tubes on motorized equipment
  • Removes/controls snow and ice
  • Assists with work orders and performs tasks by crafts such as electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing and masonry as needed
  • Assists housekeeping and furniture/equipment setups/relocations as needed
  • Provides basic customer service relations services
  • Meets, greets and directs students and campus visitors
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must pass an employment physical examination administered by Human Resources.
  • Must have a telephone, reliable transportation, and a valid N.J. driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • N.J. Black Seal license or ability to attain such within one year of hire.
  • Must have experience as a mechanic in the repair of motorized vehicles, golf carts, grounds equipment and welding experience.
  • Ability to work shift duty and 24 hour call-in service.
